Color and texture keep pushing adidas classics in new directions, and this latest collab taps right into that shift. The Hardies x adidas Gazelle doesn’t play it safe either. It leans into contrast, layered materials, and small details that give the shoe a clear identity without forcing it.
Up top, orange hairy suede works with breathable mesh to build a textured base. That bright tone gets balanced by deep green hits on the Three Stripes, heel tab, and tongue branding. Nothing feels out of place, though. The colors stay bold but controlled, and the mix of materials keeps the look grounded while still moving it forward.
Next, your eyes are drawn to the side panels. There’s a row of faux diamond studs embroidered into each stripe, which adds a subtle sparkle across your midfoot. It’s subtle, but it does alter the aesthetic just a bit. That bling factor adds a dash of edge while maintaining the silhouette you know and love from the Gazelle Indoor.
It’s subtle changes like this that let us know where adidas plans on taking its archive. There’s no need to completely overhaul these sneakers. Small changes to materials and subtle additions are all that’s needed to keep nostalgia fresh.
