Three Years Later, Tom Sachs And Nike Are Finally Releasing This Shoe

Tom Sachs and Nike’s renewed partnership got off to a hot start in 2025. The Mars Yard 3.0 largely picked off where that long-standing series left off, commanding the same sky-high resale prices and wide attention that 2.0 and 1.0 had. With confirmation of a 4.0 in the works and a rangy apparel collection dropped in the time since, there’s been no stopping the NikeCraft imprint in its latest chapter.

Now, we’ve gotten indication that there might be even more footwear on the way while audiences await the earnest 4th chapter. To state the obvious, there’s little discussion about Tom Sachs x Nike possible without mentioning the allegations of workplace malpractice that stopped the journey in its tracks. As the Nike General Purpose Shoe “Pine Green/University Green” comes back to the fore, that’s especially true; this was one of many releases already revealed to the public that all but disappeared from calendars as Beaverton indefinitely paused their collaborative output.

Sneaker News recieved a pair of this “Pine Green/University Green” style NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe, a surprise that all but confirms the style is on its way back. Whether this “re-release” will let loose pairs that have literally been on ice since that move or simply give consumers a chance at a style that never truly made it out to shelves is unclear. At least to our eye, this remains true to what we first saw in 2021, with the notable exception of a red lace stopper included on the lace.
