Mega Millions: Nike’s “Shoe Bag” Remember’s LeBron’s Mega Deal In 2003

We’re reaching the final chapters of Nike Basketball’s “Forever King” journey told through 23 distinct colorways of the signature model. One of the last remaining pairs is the LeBron 23 “Shoe Bag” that references the massive $90 million contract they needed to secure LeBron as a Swoosh peddler for life, and this first look reveals some fun details surrounding that important moment in brand history.

Off the bat, these can be mistaken for the “Big Bang” PE tied to the 2012 NBA All-Star Pack by Nike. The vibrant orange upper acts as the base, holding a woven mesh on the upper and a strong grey border that sits above the crown-shaped midsole. So far, it’s a fairly simplistic take on the silhouette.

Where the LeBron 23 actually shines is on the heel logos that differ by release. This version introduces a new “Mega Deal” logo at the heel that likely calls out to the huge pay-day that LeBron secured when signing that massive contract with Nike. The style of the logo is also quite intriguing as it seems to references the New York Lotto’s Mega Millions logo, leaving us wondering if there’s any additional tie-in to the Big Apple.

Furthermore, the t-shirt that accompanies this release has raised eyebrows for nearly adding adidas and Reebok logos in recollection of how Nike essentially out-bid its competitors to secure the generational star.

Currently, Nike Basketball retailers have this latest LeBron 23 dropped marked for an April 3rd, 2026 release in both adult ($210) and GS ($165) sizes, but stay tuned for any potential changes.
