Nike is bringing one of its most futuristic Air concepts back into the spotlight on the franchise’s most important day on the calendar. In partnership with Zellerfeld, the Swoosh is set to release the Air Max 1000 exclusively for Air Max Day, joining other groundbreaking silhouettes like the Air Liquid Max as part of the global celebration.
Originally introduced in August 2025 in extremely limited fashion, the Air Max 1000 in Black/Volt brought arguably the most iconic colorway in Air Max history to the next-generation silhouette. The completely 3-D printed upper, manufactured by industry leader Zellerfeld, helped Nike re-interpret the original Air Max shoe through a modern eye backed with cutting edge technology. Upon its debut, the Zellerfeld x Nike Air Max 1000 quickly became one of the most talked-about experimental designs in Nike’s efforts in the 21st century.
At its core, the Air Max 1000 represents a radical shift in how Nike approaches footwear creation. The model is the first to incorporate Air within a fully 3D-printed shoe, leveraging Zellerfeld’s advanced manufacturing platform to bring computational design to life. The result is a seamless, sculpted build that feels less like traditional footwear and more like a glimpse into what’s next.
In celebration of Air Max Day 2026, Zellerfeld has announced a wider drop timed to one of the brand’s biggest annual moments; a raffle will open beginning March 23rd, 2026 exclusively on Zellerfeld.com, with winners being notified on March 26th. Retail price is set at $179 USD.
