Since minting the “wave” concept on the Nike Air Max 1 in 2021, Patta has occasionally stepped away from the psychedelic concept, but it’s clearly been “home base” for the Netherlands imprint all the same. It’s only right that on Air Max Day, the same remains true, a natural moment for the second Patta x Nike Air Max 1 in “Hyper Crimson” to touch down.
Given how prolific this modified composition has been over the years, you likely don’t need a detailed reintroduction to what the Patta Air Max 1 brings to the table. However, founders Edson Sabajo and Gee Schmidt have shared that this white-dominant pair was intentionally chosen for Air Max Day, a more “democratic,” wear-with-everything proposition relative to its predecessor. Beyond the orange-accented colorway, the Netherlands imprint shares that Surinamese accessories alluding to Sabajo and Schmidt’s heritage arrive with each pair, with an associated silver/orange bomber jacket also available for the occasion.
The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 in “Hyper Crimson” releases on March 26th via pattaxnike.com and in-store via the brand’s London, Milan, and Lagos chapters. Retail is set at $150.
