A new chapter is opening in Nike’s running world, and this one carries real community weight behind it. The Nike x Renegade Running Collection is more than a product drop, as it stands as Nike’s first co-created footwear project with a Run Specialty Group partner.
That detail matters because Renegade has never positioned itself as just another store. Founded in California by former educator Victor Diaz, the shop has built its identity around inclusion, belonging, and making running feel accessible to more people. That same spirit shapes this release, which also draws from Diaz’s Mexican heritage and the cultural depth of Mexico.
Two performance models lead the project: the Vomero Premium and the Vaporfly 4. This running shoe collection uses a rich dark brown finish across both pairs, while orange accents channel the tones of the Mexican desert and spotlight Nike performance tech like Air Zoom units and the carbon Flyplate.
There is also a clear storytelling layer worked into each design. The Vomero Premium updates its bold “AIR” branding with a Renegade-inspired twist, while the Vaporfly 4 adds reflective heel tape influenced by Mexico’s historic architecture. It is a measured way of blending performance footwear with personal and cultural identity.
“Barrios Unidos” appears throughout the release as well. Translating to “united neighborhoods,” the phrase pushes the collaboration beyond design and into a broader message about connection through sport.
The Nike x Renegade Running Collection releases April 1st through Renegade, before a wider April 4th launch on SNKRS and at select retailers.
