While it might not carry the same “grail” status as some of the retailer’s earlier Nike collaborations, Patta’s “Waves” series now stands as the brand’s most recurring design theme in terms of output. The Amsterdam-based retailer has effectively hit resume on its Air Max 1 run that dominated the early 2020s, with recent seasons delivering multiple Air Max 90 “Waves” packs and another Air Max 1 duo set to conclude on Air Max Day. But with the World Cup on the horizon, it appears Patta has yet another trick up its sleeve.
The Mercurial Vapor 16 Elite FG soccer boot is here transformed with a new “Waves” collab for 2026, calling directly back to the Patta’s Air Max 1 “Noise Aqua” from 2021. Wavy synthetic material shapes the mudguard, matched by more Noise Aqua hits on the Swoosh and added heel co-branding. Silver Flyknit/Gripknit material forms the upper, while an iridescent plate with firm ground traction sits underfoot.
Importantly, this isn’t the only Patta x Nike soccer shoe in the works. Last year’s “boots-only summer” saw the emergence of a Patta x Nike Cryoshot Mercurial in black, silver, and orange, which remains TBD as of this writing.
