It’s been quiet so far when it comes to one of 2025’s most dominating stories. Yes, the adidas Jellyfish made its presence felt with a paired drop of its “Triple Black” and “Royal Blue,” but we had known of those styles for far longer, meaning that drop was more of a payoff than out-and-out “newness.” In the absence, we’ve been left to look forward only to some briefly teased, Pharrell Williams-worn colorways as the potential next steps.
As he’s wont to do, Skateboard P just blew the lid off those expectations. In a social media blast, he posted bottom-up looks at four distinct silhouettes. One strikes as rather familiar, with a flared tan base that’s almost assuredly a Jellyfish. Notably, the multi-hyphenate was recently spotted before a Louis Vuitton runway show wearing what appeared to be a remodeled version of the “exploded” silhouette — maybe this is the first seed of it coming to the public.
Elsewhere in Pharrell’s shared set, there’s confirmation of earnest new inductees into the Pharrell x adidas VIRGINIA oeuvre. One of the teased styles is the “Vario Flat Earther,” seemingly a take on soccer aesthetics, with its standout feature a combo strap/shroud where exaggerated Three Stripes branding takes over the toe. Closing out the sole-only images, a gum-soled style swaps between Y-shaped traction cutting and more traditional stripes, while maybe the most avant-garde style brackets streaks of green rubber with a pocked exterior on the midsoles.
Exploring additional designs overall shouldn’t be a surprise; it’s easy to forget that the Jellyfish was the second model to bear the adidas VIRGINIA brand after the oversized Superstar from early 2025.
