Melitta Baumeister’s Collaboration With Nike Running Is Launching On April 1st

At a time when performance and fashion continue to intersect, Nike is further collapsing the distance between the track and the runway — this time with a designer whose work thrives on experimentation and form.

Partnering with Melitta Baumeister, Nike introduces a two-shoe project centered on the Nike Vomero Premium and Nike Pegasus Premium, silhouettes that have quietly become key players in the brand’s push to bridge running performance with lifestyle expression.

If the runway has traditionally been about presentation, and running about motion, this collaboration finds a space where the two overlap. Baumeister’s approach is immediately apparent; the Vomero Premium arrives in a bold solid orange, while the Pegasus Premium is cast in striking volt, each serving as a high-visibility base for the designer’s signature treatment. Both pairs are finished with hand-painted black overlays, mimicking a sooty residue. The effect is hand-painted, rendering each unit from this release a true one-of-one.

The Vomero Premium, first previewed in late 2025, comes doused in orange with the exterior paint. Opposite the Uptempo-inspired AIR branding on the lateral, the artist’s initials of MB appears on the opposite medial. At the heel is an irreverent message that reads “Not Approved By World Athletics,” adding more edginess to a shoe’s aesthetic that is clearly not intended for competition. The Pegasus Premium maintains the audacious detailing with Melitta’s eye printed onto the medial side.

The collaboration also reinforces the growing cultural relevance of Nike’s running category, particularly as models like the Vomero Premium and Pegasus Premium continue to find steady footing beyond performance circles.

The Melitta Baumeister x Nike collection is set to release on April 1st via the designer’s website, with a wider global launch expected on Nike.com to follow.
