20 Years Later, adidas Y-3 Unleashes The F50 TUNIT Beast Pack Again

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

Long before football boots became canvases for expression, Y-3 quietly changed the game. Now, nearly two decades after its original debut, adidas and Yohji Yamamoto are bringing back the Y-3 F50 TUNIT Beast Pack, a collection that once blurred the lines between performance football and avant-garde design, and now returns at a time when that crossover feels more relevant than ever.

First introduced in 2006 ahead of that summer’s global World Cup tournament in Germany, the Beast Pack stood apart for its unapologetic visual identity, drawing from Japanese mythology through bold animal motifs. For 2026, the concept is reawakened with both lifestyle and on-pitch executions, timed to the build-up toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

The lifestyle version transforms the original cleat into a walkable, street-ready silhouette, featuring updated renditions of the Dragon, Tiger, Eagle, and Wolf, each sharpened for the modern era. Meanwhile, the performance-driven F50 ELITE FG TUNIT Y-3 centers on the Wolf, carrying over signature elements like the lace cover and artwork while integrating adidas’ latest innovations, including a HYBRIDTOUCH upper and SPRINTFRAME 360 tooling.

Originally previewed on the runway during Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, the official return of the Y-3 F50 Tunit “Beast Pack” signals a reminder of a time when football design first began to embrace fashion and how that idea has since become the norm.

The Y-3 F50 TUNIT Beast Pack is launching on April 1st.
