Nike SB proved early on that it doesn’t need outside collaborators to build sneakers around specific themes. If anything, the sub-brand thrives in that lane, whether drawing from holidays, alcohol, public transit, or just about anything else imaginable. Entering what’s sure to be a hotly contested “Dunk of the Year” conversation is the Thai food-inspired Nike SB Dunk Low “Som Tum,” now revealed through official images ahead of its expected summer release.
Early in-hand images of the sneaker helped us cover all the bases late last year, including some nice hidden touches that are kept intentionally under wraps here. Textured overlays take after the kratip, a traditional Thai hand-woven bamboo basket used to store and serve rice, which itself appears on the inner left tongue. The right tongue displays the Som Tum (papaya salad) dish, while the insoles feature markings typical of jasmine rice bags. Not pictured in the gallery below is a lotus flower hidden beneath the insoles, appearing on the heel’s Zoom Air unit. Red stitching adds some spice, as does a silver collar featuring more thematic callbacks.
The Nike SB Dunk Low “Som Tum” releases Summer 2026 via Nike SNKRS and skate shops. Scroll through the full gallery below and stay tuned for more updates.
