Big football moments tend to bring certain archive pieces back into view, and this one feels right on time. adidas and Yohji Yamamoto are bringing back the adidas Y-3 F50 TUNIT Beast Pack on April 1, 2026, reviving the boundary-pushing 2006 project that landed just before that summer’s World Cup in Germany.
What made the original release hit still comes through here, but the new version has a different kind of range. Unveiled during Y-3’s Fall/Winter 2026 show in Paris, the pack brings back the same four creatures tied to Japanese mythology: Dragon in blue, Tiger in yellow, Eagle in red, and Wolf in silver. This time, the lifestyle side takes that old TUNIT football DNA and flips it into a street pair with a walkable outsole, giving the design a second life away from the pitch.
On the performance side, the Wolf leads again. The updated boot keeps the original graphic treatment and lace cover, then layers in modern F50 tech with a HYBRIDTOUCH upper, SPRINTFRAME 360 tooling, heel support, haptic branding, and Yohji Yamamoto’s signature. That balance between archive detail and current function gives the Y-3 football pack a sharper purpose than a standard retro drop.
More than a nostalgia play, this release shows how adidas still sees football as a space for design language, not just performance.
