Tapping the collaborator rolodex is one of the safest ways for brands to get new models off the ground, and New Balance isn’t lacking star power on that front. After debuting with an Action Bronson collab followed by a small run of inline styles, the New Balance 1890 hybrid is now making a stop in Chicago courtesy of Joe Freshgoods, who recently teased his latest project on his IG Story.
Serving as a follow-up to JFG’s acclaimed New Balance 2010 “Hand-Me-Downs” and “Bag Lady” pack from last year, Joe’s 1890 appears to feature bright orange mesh under glossy black overlays, though we’re working with just a heel shot for now. For those unfamiliar, the New Balance 1890 combines the segmented midsole of the New Balance 2002, a premium Made in USA model from 2010, with a teardrop-inspired upper drawn from the New Balance 890v3.
No release details for the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 1890 have been announced as of this writing, but we’ll keep you posted as more info surfaces. For now, check out the teaser below.
