According to early details, Nike is preparing a massive Kobe 4 “Draft Day” Pack made up of 13 different colorways, each tied to the teams that passed on Bryant before he was taken with the 13th pick in the 1996 NBA Draft.
That concept gives this release more weight than a standard retro. Instead of focusing on one moment or one team, the pack is expected to map out the full draft board leading up to Kobe’s selection. Even better, each pair will reportedly feature a numbered insole that matches the team’s draft slot, helping connect every shoe back to that historic night.
The first pair linked to the collection is inspired by the Toronto Raptors. Dressed in a White, Glacier Blue, and Wild Berry mix, the colorway references Toronto passing on Bryant and selecting Marcus Camby instead. The insole is expected to feature a No. 2 stamp, adding another layer to the storytelling. That detail could become one of the strongest parts of the full collection if Nike carries it across all 13 releases.
While Kobe “Draft Day” sneakers have usually centered around the Charlotte Hornets connection, this new rollout looks much bigger in scale. Rather than revisiting only the team that drafted him, Nike appears ready to spotlight every franchise that let one of basketball’s all-time greats slip by.
