In some real cosmic timing, the teaser for the Joe Freshgoods New Balance 1890 means that the brand’s mashup proposition is set to become a hot topic once again. Already becoming a hot commodity with the help of Action Bronson, the silhouette has taken an unhurried approach to its general release journey in the time soon, perhaps something easier understood as we learn more collaborations are on the way.
Leaving its cadence and future plans aside, the silhouette has helped pry open the “visible tech” lane in the Boston brand’s catalog that the New Balance 2000 took the first steps in. Combining the sole unit of the original 2002 runner from 2010 and the New Balance 890v3, this “Boysenberry” edition is a subtle homage to the latter. Its “Boston Marathon” colorway bears striking resemblance to this moody purple edition, down to the speckled sole detailing and flares of red mesh in the rear.
The New Balance 1890 “Boysenberry” has started appearing on retail calendars with an April 16th release date. We’ll keep you in the loop once we can confirm whether that holds for stateside NB channels, but we do know the standard $180 retail price is on tap for this pair.
