For Nike, this year’s March Madness tournament has unfolded about as well as the brand could have hoped. Of the eight remaining Final Four teams across the men’s and women’s brackets, the Swoosh outfits five. Jordan Brand accounts for two, while the lone outlier in South Carolina is set to become a Nike school this summer. In other words, Nike once again owns a major presence in the tournament’s most-watched rounds, and with that comes a special PE.
UConn (men’s and women’s), Illinois (men’s), Arizona (men’s), and Texas (women’s) are the select recipients of this Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro PE, recently unveiled by Nike Basketball on social media. The lone full-profile image reveals a sparkly, iridescent finish across the net-inspired upper, paired with gold hits on the tongue branding, heel Swoosh, and lace dubrae. Underfoot we have an abstract gold and semi-translucent midsole.
These won’t see a public release, but expect them on court throughout the men’s and women’s Final Four games in the coming days. See detailed images below.
