Vans Adds Delicate “Needlework” To The Authentic

If the actual product catalog didn’t already make it clear, Vans is pulling out all the stops to elevate the Authentic as a brand icon once again, enlisting their star-studded roster of sponsees for their spring campaign. In the set helped to shelves by the likes of SZA, Hayley Williams of Paramore, and Travis Barker, the creative renaissance the skate brand is in the midst of was on full display, arguably nowhere more visible than on the Vans Authentic “Needlework.”

The multi-color arrangment wears its warm weather inspo on its sleeves, with patches of tufted florals running across the profile in black, red, blue, and yellow. Though it may be easy to miss in studio shots, all of that is actually the second layer on this pair, knit onto an incredibly lightweight body of mesh that adds spring/summer functionality to the aesthetics this colorway brings to the table. Chunky rope laces and a beaded charm round out this pair with a trendy finish.

The Vans Authentic “Needlework” dropped on Vans.com toward the top of the month, with select sizes available there and at partnering retailers. This edition commands a $105 retail pirce.
