Many NBA players have been sneaker free agents before, but none quite like Stephen Curry. An explosive combination of the “league fits” era he occupies, an extremely high-profile and unexpected breakup with Under Armour, and crucially, his status as a player that’s redefined modern basketball in his image has made his jaunt through the industry a can’t-miss plotline.
As the Warriors’ 2025-26 campaign nears an end and a hiatus on that tour looms, Curry and Sotheby’s are teaming up for a no-holds-barred showcase of what he’s worn over the past several months. In a digital auction open from April 13th to April 28th, bidders will get the chance to pick up Steph’s swag from various tunnel walks, pre-game warmups, and game action, with a litany of them bearing individualized touches. In their release, Sotheby’s highlights several, including the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game,” Nike Sabrina 3 “By You,” Nike Kobe 6 “Mambacita,” adidas Anthony Edwards 1 Low, and the On ROGER Pro “Fire.”
While the tacit question running throughout this free agency is where Steph will end up at the end of the day, this is a celebration of the moments where he was free to look back on any moment in sneaker history and flex how his star power could propel any singular brand.
