New Balance Basketball is ready to roll out the next step in Kawhi Leonard’s signature line with the upcoming New Balance Kawhi 5. Designed around the calm, calculated style that defines Kawhi’s game, the new model focuses on quick bursts, strong support, and controlled movement on both ends of the floor.
The Kawhi 5 continues the line’s mix of performance and lifestyle appeal. New Balance gave the shoe a modern shape and premium build, while still keeping the tech centered on what Kawhi needs most during play. That includes a soft upper for comfort and lockdown, a dual-density FuelCell midsole for responsive cushioning, and a forefoot Y Plate meant to help power that explosive first step.
Kawhi also played a bigger role in this launch beyond the shoe itself. He is set to serve as Creative Director for the Kawhi V campaign, helping shape the storytelling and overall vision tied to the release. According to the brand, the campaign will also nod to Kawhi’s longtime nickname.
An apparel capsule will arrive with the debut colorway as well, featuring a lightweight warm-up jacket, tapered shorts, and a breathable training tee.
The New Balance Kawhi 5 is scheduled to release in Summer 2026 for $160 through NewBalance.com and select retailers.
