As the Air Max 95 rages on as one of the more unmissable sites on any sneaker blog, Beaverton’s designers are further stretching and twisting the core composition to keep the energy up.
With subtler swaps like the Total 90 mashups or the “City Series” already making an impact, a more earnest new build is evidently on the horizon. Beginning to appear on UK feeds and product pages is the Nike Air Max 95 at hand, featuring thinned, translucent siding in place of the usual layers of suede, utilizing pronounced synthetics to approximate those iconic “wavy” contours.
Some of those who have gotten their hands on their pair already cite this as a successor to the Ultra, and to be sure, new looks for that slimmed variation have dried up since around the fall. This would mark a novel way to keep that future-forward aspect in the mix with the renewed focus on “Big Bubble” tooling, but we’ll wait for official info to stamp this as a new step in that lineage.
