,Trophy Room is a “storied” collaborator of Jordan Brand in manners both positive and negative. Certainly, no mention of the Marcus Jordan-run outlet avoids the word “backdoor” for very long, but credit where credit is due. His proximity to the Jumpman has allowed him and his label to deliver some of the most narrative-laden, considered Retro collabs in the past decade or so.
An unreleased step in that journey only further solidifies our understanding of Trophy Room’s process. Their most recent Retro release, the Jordan 7 “New Sheriff In Town,” gets further character as Jordan Brand’s B. Shaw reveals two never-before-seen sample editions. On the first and foremost, the shoe swaps to a low cut body and a bootie-like foot entrance, entirely flat at the top yet still maintaining the oval shaped patch on the unadulterated AJ7. While the rainbow pull tab and gold detailing at the rear are intact from the “New Sheriff In Town,” this variation hems closer to the Barcelona-worn pair, what with its silver overlays and red/gold platform.
Though the foregrounded pair is no doubt the more notable, we’d be remiss not to mention the other in this set. Pictured in the background, another edition left on the cutting room floor appears to elide the suede overlays from the public pair and tweak its own sole unit, here utilizing navy and gold instead.
As you might expect, these Trophy Room x Air Jordan 7 sample will remain an archive piece, but it’s always interesting to see what could’ve been, particularly for the Jordan historians. Catch an in-hand look below and watch our Jordan Releases 2026 hub for more on what’s actually coming to market.
