Official Images Of The adidas Anthony Edwards 3 Mule

The next crop of signature athletes is nearing maturity. While surely Ja Morant, LaMelo Ball, and Anthony Edwards hope that their defining career moments are still ahead of them, their respective lines with their footwear endorsers are nearly full-fledged. All three star guards have recently added takedown options to their empires (the Nike Twelve Time, the PUMA World.01, and the adidas Believe That 1), but each parent company has hopes beyond the cost-conscious.

The lifestyle space is ripe for the taking as well; Nike has moved Mr. Morant into that lane with a run of Air Force 1 colorways, while the Big Cat has delivered two silos, one rugged and one designer-like, for LaMelo’s fanbase. How will adidas respond? Well, select work on the adidas Superstar and Rivalry Low have established a foundation, but it’s the adidas Anthony Edwards 3 Mule that will really kick things into high gear.

Our first look at the slip-on model came back in April, now revealed via official images. Though a base familiarity with the Anthony Edwards 3 is helpful in dissecting this design, it’s not a one-to-one adaptation. Instead, the futuristic airs and rigid linework from all of his models inspire the hollow cutouts on the sidewalls.

An additional link to his performance line comes with a sectioned throat on the upper, aligning with the inner bootie design that’s become a defining characteristic across adi Hoops. Here, an eccentric combination of “Stone/Night Grey/Lucid Blue” emphasizes the stacked profile this model offers. Ridged traction underfoot helps push this from an easy-on shoe to an earnest performer.

The adidas Anthony Edwards 3 Mule in “Stone” will release on October 9th, retailing for $70. That likely lines up with the release of the adidas AE3. Catch official images below as we count down to the start of next season.
