Trophy Room Air Jordan 4 “Looksee Sample”

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

A real chapter in recent Air Jordan history is coming to a close. Trophy Room, the retail expression of the younger MJ, Marcus Jordan, just recently announced that they’ll be shutting their doors; Mike’s son taking his talents elsewhere, the brick & mortar location shuttering, and the Trophy Room brand taking on a different shape as an online-only entity.

Beyond the eye-catching collaborations and some of the complications therein, the Orlando store was a tangible manifestation of some of His Airness’ most iconic moments, something that fans could take in via a display of the first 30 Air Jordan models upon entering the store. On the heels of the closure, shots of an alternate version of the Air Jordan 4 for that showcase have now touched down. As seen below, what ended up in the display case hemmed closer to an Undefeated x Air Jordan 4 in its color blocking, though sharing this gold-on-grey overall palette.

Here, black moves up in position, painting the midsole, wings, and back tab for a stealthier trim package, before that refined combo of grey suede and gold anchoring delivers on the weighty intention of the 1 through 30 collection. Fans and commentators have already drawn connections to the Air Jordan 4 “Royalty,” a pair that hit the public just under a year after these would’ve been crafted.

If early indications are to be trusted, this Trophy Room x Air Jordan 4 was never intended for public release in the first place. Further, the closing of Marcus Jordan’s retail outlet only dims any faint hope of these coming to the market. However, you can still window shop to your heart’s content via the gallery below.
