Lock In: Jordan Brand’s August 2026 Lineup Is Stacked

Jordan Brand is closing out the summer months with one of the most stacked release stretches of the year, deploying large quantities across a balanced mix of collabs, OG colorways, and all-new styles.

For purists, the headline is the return of two ’90s-era original colorways. The Air Jordan 9 “Space Jam” and Jordan 13 “Flint” are both en route, not necessarily big hype drivers, but essentials for any true collector’s closet nonetheless. On the collaborative front, a familiar face and a brand new name are both getting releases. Angelo Baque’s Awake NY is following up its Jordan 5 duo with a likeminded Jordan 6 pack to close out the month, while Ghana’s Free The Youth is finally dropping its Air Jordan 16 collab, a potential SOTY candidate when it’s all said and done.

At least seven new non-collaborative styles are expected, headlined by an Air Jordan 3 “Laser” inspired by a birthday PE given to Michael Jordan back in the early 2000s. The fan-favorite Air Jordan 6 “Oreo” is also back on shelves for its first-ever retro, and while still yet to be officially announced, the Air Jordan 41 is worth keeping an eye out for.

Free The Youth x Air Jordan 16 (August 1st, 2026)

Originally expected to launch in July, Free The Youth’s wings-covered Air Jordan 16 drops first via FTY on August 1st. A larger release via Nike SNKRS and retailers follows on August 15th.

Air Jordan 13 “Flint” (August 1st, 2026)

Also on August 1st is the return of the Air Jordan 13 in its most famous original colorway. The “Flint” 13s are en route for their fourth retro, the last arriving just six years ago.

Air Jordan 1 High OG “Love Letter” (August 1st, 2026)

The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Love Letter” draws inspiration from MJ’s iconic “Dear Basketball” letter, penned on the date of his 2003 retirement. Full family sizes drop August 1st.

Air Jordan 13 “Wings” (August 6th, 2026)

Jordan Brand’s youth education and mentorship program is dropping an Air Jordan 13 featuring tear-away uppers. Tap HERE to see what they look like stripped down.

Air Jordan 6 “Oreo” (August 8th, 2026)

The Air Jordan 6 “Oreo” was a hot buy when it originally dropped back in 2010. Will the shoe’s first-ever retro be any different? We’ll see. Full family sizes drop August 8th.

Air Jordan 3 “Chalk” (August 8th, 2026)

The lone kids-exclusive release of the month is the Air Jordan 3 “Chalk,” featuring a neutral foundation with playful color pops. Grade school and preschool sizes drop August 8th.

Air Jordan 3 “Sports Renaissance” (August 15th, 2026)

The Air Jordan 3 “Sports Renaissance” is probably the most head-scratching release of the month, delivering a mismatched take on Mike’s third signature with elaborate, one-of-a-kind detailing. Women’s, PS, and TD sizes drop August 15th.

Air Jordan 3 “Laser” (August 22nd, 2026)

Inspired by a one-of-one gifted to MJ by Mark Smith for his 40th birthday in 2003, the Air Jordan 3 “Laser” releases August 22nd. And it’s not alone.

Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Laser” (August 22nd, 2026)

Also arriving 8/22 is an Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Laser,” featuring etched uppers inspired by MJ’s career story.

Air Jordan 9 “Space Jam” (August 29th, 2026)

The Air Jordan 9 “Space Jam,” given that nickname later in its life for its role in the movie, returns August 29th. That glittery mudguard still hits.

Awake NY x Air Jordan 6 (August 29th, 2026)

Angelo Baque’s Awake NY imprint continues its Jordan Brand partnership with a set of Jordan 6s on August 29th, drawing inspiration from fine leather goods, authentic or counterfeit.

Air Jordan 17 Low “Black Patent” (August 2026)

Also arriving in August is the Air Jordan 17 Low “Black Patent,” a luxe take on a cult classic Wizards-era model. No official date has been announced as of this writing, but the shoe is expected to land sometime this month.
