Victor Solomon’s love of sport and art has led to some incredible accomplishments for an artist who first gained fame on social media. Through his ornate sculptures that combined an alchemic touch with an abstract interpretation of the game, Victor Solomon’s notoriety eventually led to designing actual trophies for the NBA’s landmark 75th Anniversary.

With All-Star Weekend taking place in Los Angeles, Solomon was tapped by Nike to create a capsule that exuded the Los Angeles grind while emanated the elegance of of the game. The result? The Nike Sportswear Trophies Collection that includes the Air Foamposite One, Air Force 1, and Air Max 90.

Through an elegant white, gold, and black colorway, each pair of the Trophies Collection embodies a specific aspect of LA. The Foamposite is tied to Westside Beaches, which reflects the vibe of the shore; the Air Force 1 “Sunset Strip” channels the energy of the iconic street, pressing hard on luxury; the Air Max 90 “Downtown Diamond District” makes use of stone-encrusted Swooshes. All three feature ornate lacing, cracked leather, and golden hardware.

Shoe Palace on Melrose will be home to community space for the public to partake in immersive basketball-inspired art projects, including a basketball net workshop that can be decorated with accessories, a “message in a vessel”, and more.

The Nike All-Star Trophies Collection is expected to launch during All-star weekend; more details to come.
