They’re popping champagne over at Vans, literally. Arguably the hottest sneaker brand of the past few seasons invited us to a gifting activation for New York Fashion Week, showcasing a range of recent and upcoming styles that feel destined to sell out and keep the brand’s momentum rolling.
Here we have the latest chapter of Vans’ “Pearlized” series, a run of non-collaborative releases born from the popularity of Satoshi Nakamoto’s string of projects with the brand. Leading the charge is another Premium Old Skool to accompany recent white and pink colorways, this one riffing on the model’s iconic blue makeup. The “Pearlized” detailing stays consistent, highlighted by varied beads along the Sidestripe, toe box, tongue, and heel. Distressed laces and scuffed sidewalls round out the theme.
The other half of the pack delivers two “Pearlized” Vans Slip-Ons, the first we’ve seen by our count. The model’s larger canvas opens the door for more elaborate detailing, each pair featuring pearl/stone arrangements that create four-oval patterns across the upper. One arrives in navy, while the other sports a woodland camo print. Black leather heels provide another premium touch, with pearls extending to that area as well. Again, both pairs come with pre-distressed sidewalls.
