LeBron And Nike Unveil The Air Force 1 “Voltage Green”

As the longstanding top dog of Nike Sportswear, the Air Force 1 has seen more radical re-imaginations than we can count. LeBron James’ latest signature style, however, is truly unlike anything we’ve seen before, employing an all-new crown-shaped midsole akin to the design of the LeBron 23.

Multiple LeBron Air Force 1s are set to release this year, part of a rejuvenated category of hooper-specific Forces alongside Ja Morant and Kobe Bryant styles. Here we have the LeBron Air Force 1 “Voltage Green,” an electrifying option to go along with the previously discussed black patent pair (with the possibility of more to come). The inspiration behind the design is green screens, a nod to LeBron’s cinematography, namely his starring role in 2021’s Space Jam reprisal.

Lenticular synthetic material engulfs the entire upper, complete with Nike x LBJ in black on the backtab. Crown graphics and “Air Chosen One” add to the messaging on the outer tongue, while the inner tongue reads “Los Angeles.” Green and black/white laces are included, as are white lace dubraes featuring LeBron’s jersey number and birth year. One key point of discussion is the insoles, which feature tons of blue graphics inspired by special effects. Towards the top is a list of years that ends with “202?,” potentially some tongue-in-cheek commentary on speculation over Bron’s retirement plans.

The main distinguishing factor is the new drop-in, crown-shaped midsole, which glows in the dark to match the Swoosh border and laces. Even the finer details are altered: tiny crowns appear in place of stars on the toe and heel, more crowns appear in the circles within outsole, and LeBron’s signature is etched onto the midfoot. To cap it all off, we have a goat graphic in place of the usual “Air” text on the lateral side.
