While still heavily involved in Jordan Brand’s operations, Michael Jordan isn’t known to play a leading role in introducing new product. The six-time NBA Champion has been notoriously reclusive since retiring, and when the paparazzi do catch him, his footwear choices are almost always low-key general release fare. Not here, though.
Riding high after 23XI Racing’s first Daytona 500 win, Michael Jordan popped out at Disney rocking the upcoming Nigel Sylvester Jordan 4 “Cinnabar,” giving us our first true look at the sneaker in the process. First spotted during an NYC fashion show last year, the “Cinnabar” features a Sail leather foundation with Cinnabar red accents on the flaps, eyestays, midsole, and branding. The mini Swoosh returns on the lateral toe, while “Bike Air” appears over Sail TPU on the heel.
Nigel Sylvester is arguably the hottest Air Jordan collaborator in rotation right now, the BMX star coming off his strongest effort yet with last year’s “Brick By Brick” 4s – a top sneaker of 2025 no matter who you ask. Returning to the same silhouette, currently the most popular in the Air Jordan line, all but guarantees another release packed with fanfare. Not that there was ever much doubt, but the fact that MJ himself has been seen wearing the shoes ensures they’ll get the marketing push they deserve.
No concrete release date for the Nigel Sylvester Jordan 4 “Cinnabar” has been announced as of this writing, but May and June have been reported as tentative launch windows. Keep our Jordan Release Dates page bookmarked for any and all updates.
