Jordan Brand has outdone itself with the Air Jordan 40, a fitting ode to the line’s 40th anniversary featuring some of Beaverton’s best basketball tech and multiple styles rooted in Jumpman heritage. Hybrid mashups have largely stolen the show, including designs inspired by the Jordan 16, Jordan 20, and Jordan 28, to name a few. This latest look sticks to the model’s core tooling, here dressed in an eye-catching, shimmery layer of Metallic Copper.
Official images show a full Metallic Copper upper featuring a texture comparable to paint applications, calling to mind fine art and decorative techniques found in architecture. The lining, tongue, and midsole, meanwhile, all come in black. The Air Jordan 40 is the first Jordan model to feature both ZoomX foam and a full-length Zoom Strobel unit, delivering top-tier cushioning and responsiveness.
The Air Jordan 40 “Metallic Copper” is due out Spring 2026, meaning sometime between now and the end of March. Retail is set at $205 USD. Scroll through the full gallery below and hit our Jordan Release Dates page to browse more upcoming hoops shoes.
As for the Retro arena, the Air Jordan 11 “Tokyo” drops exclusively in Japan later this month.
