Saucony Brings Back 2011’s Progrid V2

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

Digging through the running archives has become a defining play across the sneaker industry, with brands reissuing performance models of the past as comfort-first lifestyle options. Saucony has done a fine job executing that strategy, shifting the spotlight from its once-dominant ‘90s catalog to the 2000s and 2010s as the primary wellspring for modern retros.

You’re probably already acquainted with the Progrid Omni 9 and Triumph 4 (perhaps because of Jae Tips), but the Saucony backlog runs much deeper. Here we have the return of the Progrid V2 from 2011, built on many of the same tenets as those other two models but with some key differences.

The Nike Shox R4 immediately comes to mind, coincidentally echoed by large lower panels housing Saucony logos on the sides. More curved paneling around the quarter and heel adds some easygoing feng shui, while the tongue, toe box, and collar shift to mesh.

Multiple Saucony Progrid V2 colorways are available now via the Saucony website HERE. Retail is set at $155 USD.
