The Nike Mind 001 And Liquid Undergoes Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Concept Testing

For decades, Hiroshi Fujiwara has played a quiet but undeniable role at Nike as an advisor and one-third of the legendary HTM. Now, the founder of Fragment Design returns with the latest chapter of that partnership, introducing a trio of forward-looking silhouettes under the banner of Fragment Concept Testing.

While the individual models have surfaced in recent weeks, Nike has now officially revealed the collection as a cohesive project featuring Fujiwara’s interpretations of the Nike Air Liquid Max, Mind 001, and Mind 002. Each design carries Fujiwara’s signature restraint, applying minimalist updates to some of Nike’s newest lifestyle innovations.

The Air Liquid Max, a newly introduced silhouette that draws on more than four decades of Air Max development, appears in Fujiwara’s signature all-black palette with Fragment Concept Testing branding across the lateral upper. The understated treatment highlights the model’s bold tooling and futuristic stance without overpowering its design.

Fujiwara applies a similar approach to the Nike Mind 001, the experimental mule-inspired silhouette from Nike’s emerging Mind series. His version retains the shoe’s sculpted foam structure while introducing a sleek black finish accented by vibrant blue nodes. The Mind 002 receives the most dramatic reinterpretation, with Fujiwara swapping in entirely new upper materials while maintaining the same black-and-blue palette.

The collaboration continues Fujiwara’s long-standing relationship with Nike that just recently included a collaborative drop with Union LA and the Air Jordan 1. The linkage between the “godfather of streetwear” and the Swoosh stretches back to the late 1990s; since, he’s been a undeniable game-changer in shaping Nike’s approach to experimental design.

The Fragment Concept Testing x Nike Mind 001 and Mind 002 release March 14 via Fragment Design retailers  before launching globally March 19 on SNKRS and select retailers. Fujiwara’s Air Liquid Max arrives March 31 at Fragment followed by a global release on April 3.
