Since first joining hands with Comme des Garçons, Nike has been unafraid of tying their wagon to the world of high fashion. Now supporting relationships with a slew of designer labels, Melitta Baumeister and her eponymous imprint loom as the next to truly make a splash with the fashion-forward, already showcasing a distressed take on the Vomero Premium and the Pegasus Premium.
We’ve got to page back to March 2025 for the next steps in the burgeoning partnership. As part of the brand’s Fall 2025 showcase, Baumeister flexed a new take on the Air Max Muse, truly a wild reinterpretation of the women’s silhouette with cement-like extensions of the sole unit that pour through the gaps in the Muse’s upper. Three colorways debuted in that runway show: one leaning into industrial aesthetics in all-grey, one more of an urban/natural mashup in grey/green, and one a spin on the inline “Oil Green” colorway.
About a year after that initial tease, the Melitta Baumeister x Nike Air Max Muse is back on the timeline, featured on a spread spotlight from Hartcopy. We’re interpreting that as a tacit confirmation that this collaboration will indeed be hitting the public, but confirmation on when exactly that’ll come to pass is unclear.
