Nike keeps circling back to what works, and this time it lands on a familiar favorite. The update doesn’t try too hard. It just shifts the feel through color, letting the design do what it always has.
The Nike Air Max 90 “Cool Grey/Infrared 23” opens with a white mesh base that feels light on foot. Soft Cool Grey suede wraps the front and eyestays, adding some texture. A darker Light Smoke Grey mudguard runs along the bottom and keeps everything grounded.
Then the color hits. Infrared 23 cuts across the Swoosh and heel, giving it that signature pop people expect. Blue details show up on the eyestays and midsole, pushing things in a slightly brighter direction without going overboard.
Down below, the cream midsole softens the look just enough. It brings a slight aged feel without forcing it. The Air unit sits in blue, and the outsole mixes black with more blue for a clean finish.
Nothing here feels forced or overdesigned. It’s a simple update that leans on color instead of change. That’s usually when this model works best.
