Nike has made a consistent effort to spotlight its investment in women in recent years, a push that touches nearly every corner of its business – from research and development to marketing to increased representation in leadership roles. That commitment is showing up clearly in product, spanning meticulously crafted performance basketball models to the ever-important lifestyle category.
The Swoosh’s latest women’s-focused endeavor is the Nike First Sight collection, a trio of sport-inspired lifestyle models designed to spark that “love at first sight” feeling. Leading the charge is the First Sight Noir, which debuted just this past weekend and will continue its rollout with a fresh, contemporary-leaning pack in April.
Not unlike the kitten heel-inspired Nike Shox Z, the First Sight Noir blends Nike’s running DNA with a wedge-like construction. The heel mimics a sprinter’s stance in the starting blocks, complete with an open midfoot cavity and a sporty, aerodynamic molded leather upper.
