Crisis averted. After prolonged, hard-fought negotiations between ownership and players, the WNBA is back on the menu. For Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, it’s worth a sigh of relief. Both the team and its star are poised to be the biggest stories of the upcoming campaign. Clark has opened essentially as a co-favorite for MVP alongside (who else but) A’ja Wilson, while the Fever are similarly situated as inner circle contenders.
On the footwear side, Caitlin Clark has already proven to be a generational talent, as latching one of the women’s game’s most notable names onto the Kobe line has had exponential results. Following sell-out events for the Fever-inspired Kobe 5 and an icy Kobe 6 soon thereafter, the Caitlin Clark legacy continues with this Kobe 5 “Coconut Milk.”
To date, about half of the Iowa product’s efforts have been narrative-steeped, between those unabashed Indiana ties on the former, to the hardware inspo for the Caitlin Clark Kobe 5 “Rookie of the Year.” At first blush, it’s tough to connect this calming variation to any similar career highlight, but the blocking overall is just as arresting without that in place. Off-white uppers combine with teal graphic overlays and soles, with notable hits of fire red on the tongue and outsole helping kick things up a notch.
The Caitlin Clark x Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Coconut Milk” is currently expected to release as a part of the Summer 2026 slate, landing somewhere between April and June.
