There’s never a better chance to flex the strength of your catalog than with an inline pack. With the weather mercifully beginning to break in the Northern Hemisphere, the Boston brand’s latest collection celebrates those balmy settings in the near future, uniting the New Balance 2000, 204L, Ellipse, and 740.
You’ll note that a bulk of the shoes included have been introduced within the past year, knowingly elevating some of the newer kids on the block as their buzz only continues. None is fresher born than the New Balance Ellipse, stepping into the tech-packed trainer realm only this month and carrying the brand’s pinnacle Fresh Foam X at a reasonable $145. A men’s and a women’s colorway pace its “Warm Skies” contribution, each delivering the canary yellow that runs throughout the full pack with opposite dark grey and white trim, respectively.
Then it’s to some of the longer-tenured. The 2000 pairs its aggressive design language with an equally edgy sunrise gradient, while the New Balance 204L plays to its strengths with heavy applications of spring-ready tonality. Finally, the 740 extends the least in this application, maintaining the off-white and dark grey you’d see in mainline looks but electrifying its profile with a sunny midfoot shank.
The New Balance “Warm Skies” collection releases on April 1st, but you can get a stab at the 204L ahead of time via New Balance’s renewed “Early Access” program. Sign in on the NB site to enter.
