A clean blue-and-white Air Max always knows how to land at the right time, and this one feels built for warmer months. The Nike Air Max 90 “University Blue” is pairing familiar running DNA with a fresh mix of University Blue, Hydrogen Blue, and Star Blue.
The upper keeps things sharp with white mesh through the toe box, side panels, and collar, giving the brighter shades room to stand out. The mudguard, eyestays and quarter sections are wrapped in Light Hydrogen Blue leather while Star Blue provides deeper contrast on the Swoosh, heel branding, outsole and portions of the midsole.
Signature elements from the Air Max 90 are retained, including ribbed eyelets, molded heel tab, exposed Air unit and side badge branding. White laces and midsole continue to tone down the composition. Light pairs with black on select areas of the outsole to add subtle attitude underneath.
There is also a subtle sense of refinement here. Rather than reworking the silhouette, Nike lets the layered blue shades do the work, giving this Air Max release a cleaner update that still feels true to the original design.
