We’ll leave our personal opinion on the matter for another time, but for many, 2016 was the height of modern NBA basketball. LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers colliding with a 73-9 Golden State Warriors team was the apex of a year that featured swan songs for Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Kobe Bryant and the earnest genesis of the 3-point revolution.
In what’d eventually become the first 3-1 comeback in NBA Finals history, many cite Klay Thompson’s postgame comments as a turning point, ascribing an altercation between James and Draymond Green as the former getting his “feelings hurt.” In what’s almost a “Defining Moments” style adaptation, the King adapts that moment by keeping his enemies close, with this pair bearing a real resemblance to the Dubs’ sleeved jerseys from that year. Of course, since the Cavs were the ones to come home with the hardware, there’s no shortage of gilded accents, including on two “Best Ever” rivets on the heel.
The Nike LeBron 23 “Hurt Feelings Write History” releases on April 17th, 2026, in men’s and Grade School sizing ($235 and $165, respectively).
