adidas Transforms The Predator And Friends Into Bowling Shoes

If the formalwear-meets-streetwear moment is abating at all, no one told the biggest brands. As we’ve noted before, these mashup concepts may not have the same shock value that helped them take over timelines, but there’s clearly still an appetite for bringing lifestyle staples into refined settings.

adidas is now bridging that gap with three disparate silhouettes, as tastefully presented by atmos here. In the name of proper contextualization, for the Three Stripes, this is a course first charted by prolific partner Edison Chen and his CLOT label, bringing this same flattened formal sole to the Superstar across a classic all-black up through a cow print take earlier this year.

The Predator, a frequent face as the World Cup continues to be a monstrous presence, arrives from the most far-flung category, the first performance take of this capsule that we’ve seen. Though the platform sole below changes what it brings to the table, its lace shroud, aggressive branding, and wavy Three Stripes remain intact above, in a menacing red/black. The adidas team does some real crate digging for the rest of this three-shoe delivery, pulling out the low-pro Changle and a normalized version of the Anfu Mary Jane to round out, both delivering earthy palettes with identical sectioned soles.

A raffle for the adidas Bowling Shoes capsule is already open via atmos, though when and if this will come stateside is unclear. For those in Japan (a requirement for any atmos draw), you can get entries in now through April 15th, before winners are announced on April 17th.
