The recent success of Michael Jordan’s 23XI Racing has created some natural overlap between the sneaker and NASCAR worlds in 2026. While not quite as headline-grabbing, Nike has been tapping into the sport on its own terms for a while now. Our regular readers might recall last year’s Air Max 90 Racing series, a multi-pair lineup that nodded to motorsport with aerodynamic color blocking and livery-inspired “90” branding on the insoles. Now it appears the series is back, with official images of a new “Silver Sage” colorway emerging for Summer 2026.
All the familiar hallmarks of past Air Max 90 Racing releases apply here. The Tinker Hatfield-designed icon leans on jet black finishes across the mudguard and midsole, with carbon fiber detailing peeking through the mudguard window. Perforated leather covers the toe box and heel, while matching Silver Sage lands on the tongue, lining, and suede quarter. The insoles feature “90” numbering, while Mineral Slate accents on the Nike Air branding and other branded hits round out the design.
The Nike Air Max 90 Racing “Silver Sage” releases May 2026 for $135 in men’s sizes. Scroll through the official image gallery below if this one’s on your radar.
