The One Piece Air Max Plus collection, as well as the adidas Pokemon effort for the 30th anniversary, has all of a sudden made anime footwear a bustling category once again. To be sure, Yu-Gi-Oh’s link-up with dotSWOOSH to close out 2025 already did so, and if Konami has anything to say about it, their franchise will be back at the forefront of the conversation once again.
The TCG game’s World Championship event is looming for the end of August, taking place in Ariake, Japan, and eagle-eyed enthusiasts were able to make out more than just trading cards. Indeed, an unannounced Yu-Gi-Oh Crocs collection made a surprise appearance, which would mark the first link-up between the Colorado company and the beloved series. Four colorways were revealed at the showcase, splitting the celebration between the Classic Clog and the Echo Clog.
For the former, it’s adaptations of two of the franchise’s principal players. Yugi’s blue and yellow get-up and the Millennium puzzle live on his pair, while Seto Kaiba’s outerwear inspires jagged midsoles and a white/black/burgundy palette. Two of the franchise’s more lasting cards take up the Echo Clog; the Blue-Eyes White Dragon keeping its edition true to that title before the Dark Magician is fittingly regal with a fabric shroud added onto its pair.
Much the same as the Air Max 95 capsule, the Crocs x Yu-Gi-Oh collab cuts the other way, bringing the Colorado company into the world of trading cards with a collectible Crocodile mascot card. Though these emerged as “sneak peeks,” retailers already have some of the Yu-Gi-Oh Crocs collection listed for September 1st; the Yugi Yami clocking in at $70, and the Dark Magician at $90.
