The Oregon Ducks continue to push the boundaries of PE storytellin, and their latest baseball-exclusive might be one of their most creative yet as it draws in from multiple venues.
Building on a theme that’s already crossed multiple silhouettes, Oregon once again taps into the world of the Grateful Dead, but with an heavily evolved execution. Introducing the Nike Diamond Sabrina 3 GD MTL, a baseball-ready reinterpretation of Sabrina Ionescu’s signature model that brings her on-court performance design into an entirely different sport.
The crossover itself is what makes this release stand out. While Oregon has previously explored Grateful Dead-inspired PEs. including earlier takes on Sabrina’s line and even the Nike Air Max 90 for retail, this latest version takes it a step further by bridging the psychedelic identity of the iconic music group onto the baseball diamond.
The details include a chenille Swoosh with a zig-zag finish mirrors the collars on the iconic Grateful Dead bears, while tie-dye treatments at the toe and heel inject the signature burst of color tied to the band’s visual legacy. Five dancing bears appear on the hangtag, while matching batting gloves extend the concept into a full on-field statement.
As always with Ducks PEs, a public release isn’t expected.
