Converse is giving the Chuck Taylor one of its most elevated updates yet with a hand-crafted build arriving in May 2026. The release falls under the revived First String line, which brings premium materials and upgraded construction to some of the brand’s most familiar silhouettes.
This new Converse First String Chuck Taylor features a hand-woven leather upper made with materials sourced from Italy. Brown leather shapes most of the design, while black and white woven details add contrast across the side panels.
Nike Air cushioning gives the midsole a more comfortable ride than a standard Chuck Taylor. A Vibram outsole also adds stronger traction and improved durability, keeping the premium build functional for everyday wear.
The Converse First String Chuck Taylor “Woven Leather” releases May 5, 2026, through Converse.com and select retailers. Retail price is set at $200 USD.
