Donovan Mitchell Debuts adidas DON Issue 8 “Spider-Man”

Donovan Mitchell gave fans an early look at the adidas DON Issue 8 “Spider-Man” during Cleveland’s playoff matchup against Detroit. The debut continues a familiar theme for Mitchell’s signature line, which has leaned into his Spider-Man nickname and comic-inspired storytelling since the original DON Issue 1.

Red and blue gradient mesh covers most of the upper, creating the strongest visual link to the Spider-Man theme. A curved grid pattern runs through the side panels, while black overlays, white Three Stripes branding, and bright blue heel accents sharpen the look. The shoe also returns to a traditional lace setup after the DON Issue 7 featured a zip-up closure.

The DON Issue 8 appears to build on recent adidas Basketball design language instead of completely changing direction. The low-cut shape, inner bootie style, and large midfoot support piece give the shoe a familiar performance feel. Underfoot, the split outsole features multi-directional traction with web-like circular patterns that match the theme.

adidas has not confirmed release details for the DON Issue 8 “Spider-Man” yet. However, Mitchell’s previous model first appeared during the postseason before releasing in July, which could point toward a similar rollout for his next signature sneaker.
