The Nike Air Max 95 Enters The “Scorpion” Exhibit

NOCTA or non-affiliated? That was the question circling the Nike Air Max Plus VII “Scorpion” as it first hit the newswire; a pair where you could squint and attach Drizzy’s star sign and his love for the Air Max Plus line to the new colorway. Though we eventually landed squarely on the side of this being a general release, the plot thickens once again as a Nike Air Max 95 “Scorpion” tacitly confirms a pack release across the Visible Air family.

What immediately caught our eye with the AMP was the scorpion brand sitting front-and-center on the tongue. By contrast, the Air Max 95 keeps its arachnid inspo a bit more hidden, shifting it underfoot within a woozy cerulean section and with a teensy branding patch just before the heel. Even with those changes, you can clearly trace the connection, as bright “Gamma Blue” links to the critter’s natural biofluorescence, shining resplendent blue under ultraviolet light.

Beyond the colors at work, Beaverton makes some structural swaps to really drive this home as a special edition; stripes of mesh, nubuck, patent leather and a carbon-fiber-like material make up the “side waves” for this Air Max 95.

The Nike Air Max 95 “Scorpion” should be coming to shelves soon, likely arriving at the same time as the Air Max Plus VII mentioned throughout this piece.
