All of our coverage surrounding Vans’ recent run has celebrated the brand’s renewed willingness to take chances with their most treasured designs. Obviously, the “Pearlized” series, both with inline expressions and with the help of Satoshi Nakamoto or Mattias Gollin, has bore the most fruit.
The California company hasn’t stopped there though, and designer Greg Betty’s efforts coming to light has continued an experimental streak through far-flung inspo from vintage workwear to competing brand’s designs to luxury accessories. OTW is on the front page once again with the Vans Old Skool Vibram “Knot,” making good on its moniker by weaving rope attachments from heel to toe, flowing through the side stripe on either colorway. One makes good on a naturalistic overall vibe with a comprhensive tan upper, while the other embraces the playful side with a multicolor blend of light blue, burnt orange, royal blue, and pine green.
The Vans OTW Old Skool 36 “Knot” has already been spotted at retailers and on global Vans sites, reported with a May 21st release date via both. Whether that’ll hold for a stateside drop remains unclear. In the meantime, get familiar with both colorways via the image galleries below.
