There’s a new kid on the block in the Nike SB catalog, but it’s got an old soul. The Beaverton brand’s skate wing is set to debut the Nike SB Code 58, a wide, somewhat chunky silhouette that feels straight out of the mid-2000s.
The build strikes a nice balance between Y2K nostalgia and the practical demands of skating. Suede covers the toe box and forefoot paneling, a preferred material for its comfort and durability, while ballistic mesh handles the tongue and quarter. Underfoot sits a cupsole that tapers toward the toe, with two distinct radial traction zones on the outsole.
A few past Nike models come to mind. The DNA is closest to the Nike SB Dunk, but the shape draws comparisons to the Field General and the extended forefoot paneling nods to the Air Ship.
As for the name: “SB” looks like the number 58, a play Nike SB has leaned into before through apparel, distinct footwear styles, and the Nike SB Force 58.
The Nike SB Code 58 should begin hitting skate shops soon for $90. See official images below and hit our Sneaker Release Dates page for more.
