Although it’s still unclear what jersey will be on Kevin Durant’s back come this 2025-2026 season, we do know this: any time he rocks the red, white, and blue, a ‘chip is in the books. In continuing the KD 4 Retro cycle, Nike will be dropping the “Gold Medal” colorway of the fourth model soon; read on to learn more about this special release.
Originally dropping back in August of 2012, the Nike KD 4 “Gold Medal” was made available just after Team USA’s Gold Medal run during the 2012 Olympics in London. It needs little to stand out: a metallic gold coating is matched with patriotic hits of dark navy blue and bold red, while black laces and gold-speckled midsoles complete the look. A translucent sole — a common feature in Nike Basketball products of that area, sits beneath.
A firm release date for the KD 4 “Gold Medal” isn’t known, but it seems possible that the shoes will be available on or around the same August 18th date from 13 years ago. We do know that the MSRP has increased to $135, which is $5 more than previous KD 4 drops. Stay tuned for updates.
