Things keep coming up KidSuper. Ever the one to make headlines with off-the-wall promo efforts like a stand up show at the Apollo to promote a 2024 PUMA collection, Colm Dillane got a more traditional moment at this year’s Met Gala, as Miles Chamley-Wilson took to the starry showcase head to toe in KidSuper designs. Yet he’s continuing to push the envelope when it comes to collaborations as well, as early inklings of a KidSuper x BAPE World Cup collection are beginning to trickle out.
Sneaker historian and overall BapeSta fanatic @sneakerdenn was the first to collate several initial seeds. Dillane reportedly shared a BTS video of his recent efforts, where he was depicted holding a vibrant blue/red/yellow pair tooled to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Soon after, a Japanese pair was shown in even more vivid detail. Of course, white and red make it into the colorway for flag-accurate hues, but the royal blue overlays align with national team kits.
Though nothing is absolutely confirmed, we’ll also note that KidSuper Studios is actively recruiting designers with roots in Algeria, Austria, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Croatia, Czech Republic, DR Congo, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, South Africa, Switzerland, or Tunisia. We could be in for a rather sprawling capsule once officially revealed. For now, check out some initial teaser imagery regarding the KidSuper x BAPE World Cup efforts included below.
