New Balance adds more color to its Made in USA lineup with the 990v4 “Bart Simpson,” arriving June 2026 in a bold animated palette. The pair comes dressed in Urgent Red, Maize, and Afterglow, with the unofficial nickname coming from its red, yellow, and blue mix.
Red mesh covers most of the upper, matched with suede overlays that keep the 990v4 in familiar Made in USA territory. Maize yellow breaks through the toe box, side panels, and heel area, giving the shoe most of its cartoon-like energy. The blue heel tab and rear midsole accent finish the look without needing any official character branding.
New Balance keeps the classic 990v4 shape intact. The side panels feature a black “N” logo outlined in silver, while the tongue label uses a silver finish with Made in USA details. “990” branding is stitched near the heel, and coral laces blend into the upper instead of fighting the rest of the colorway.
An aged cream midsole tones things down a bit underfoot. Black rubber handles the outsole, while the insoles include New Balance Athletics, Inc. branding from Boston, Massachusetts.
